Please join us for the 2022 RPFSS Annual Meeting - Climate Risks in the U.S. Financial System, Presented by Dr. Toan Phan, Senior Economist. Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond
Date: Friday, November 4, 2022 Time: 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM, HST Location: Online
As part of our annual meeting, we will be joined this year by Dr. Toan Phan, Senior Economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, who will provide a presentation on climate risks in the U.S. financial system. Given the effects of climate change felt in recent years, we know that it can impact every aspect of the U.S. economy. This reality gives rise to a myriad of risks for the U.S. financial system which Dr. Phan will delve into in greater detail.
Dr. Phan is a published author and frequent featured speaker at national and international conferences. Dr. Phan’s research interests include climate economics, climate finance, macroeconomics and international macroeconomics. He joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond in July 2017 after serving as an assistant professor of economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his doctorate from Northwestern University in 2012 and his bachelor of science in mathematics from Bucknell University in 2006.
After our keynote address, we will go into breakout sessions. Since we are meeting virtually again this year, we wanted to give our Section members the opportunity to reconnect in small groups. Everyone will be broken up randomly into separate rooms. We’ll be giving away one $50 gift card in each breakout room.
